Cosmopolitan has a good specific weight, 66.2 kg/hl, and importantly low screening losses.
It has provisional MBC approval for brewing and will be in further testing with the maltsters in 2020.
AGRONOMICS AND DISEASE RESISTANCE
Cosmopolitan has short straw, very good resistance to lodging and is earlier to ripen than Laureate.
Cosmopolitan has excellent disease resistance particularly to the important diseases, Rhynchosporium and mildew as it has mlo resistance.
Cosmopolitan is a high yielding malting barley with provisional MBC approval for brewing. It was an exciting new addition to the AHDB spring barley Recommended List in 2019.
Cosmopolitan combines a superb performance in all UK regions with good grain quality and low screening losses, a solid agronomic package and excellent disease resistance.
Cosmopolitan has proven to be cobsistent across sites, regions and seasons.
