Mulika is the top performing, Group 1 bread-making spring wheat variety. It is the first Group 1 wheat with resistance to orange wheat blossom midge.

Mulika combines a very high yield potential, with very short straw, excellent all round disease resistance and superb grain quality. These attributes ensure that Mulika is the perfect spring crop option to achieve excellent gross margins.

Mulika performs exceptionally well both autumn and spring sown and can be sown from November through to mid April.

Mulika produces yields 7% above Group 1 spring variety Paragon and 2% ahead of winter variety Solstice when autumn sown. It produces yields 8% ahead of Paragon when spring sown.

Mulika has excellent grain quality characteristics, with a very high hagberg and specific weight and a very good protein content. It performs consistently well in baking tests giving the potential for excellent market premiums.

Mulika is much shorter than fellow Group 1 variety Paragon and is similar in height to Tybalt and Ashby. Mulika has very stiff straw. Lodging scores are not available for HGCA trials from harvest 2010 and 2011.

Mulika shows superb resistance to all diseases, particularly to both yellow and brown rust and is resistant to OWBM.
