Swallow tillers well and produces high yields, particularly in the North, where it will find favour with its superb distilling potential. It competes well with established varieties in the Northern market.
Swallow shows potential for early drilling, which will appeal to many growers.
Swallow has notably the shortest, stiffest straw on the RL and is early to ripen, important attributes in particular for the Northern market.
Swallow has good disease resistance and resistance to OWBM. It has maintained a good level of resistance year
